Our family run company set up business in Eastbourne in 1971 under the name of M & B Motors.  It was based in Finmere Road, Eastbourne, East sussex dealing mainly with repairs to invalid carriages under the contract we had with the NHS.  We also undertook a small section of private repairs. 

In 1975 the workforce had increased and so the company moved to slightly larger premises in Birch Close, Eastbourne.  Over the next few years, we changed premises again, finally settling at our current premises in Tideswell Road, Eastbourne. 

At  this time in 1998, we were dealing with private repairs to wheelchairs and scooters, and also selling electric scooters.  In 1999 we achieved an award from the manufacturer of Freerider Scooters (shown below) for the highest sales of their products throughout the country. 

After achieving this award we decided that there was scope for us to open a shop locally selling electric scooters and aids for the disabled, and it was at this point that Weald Mobility Care Centre was born.
